We renew all types of flat
roofs 80% of which customers tend to chose High performance torch on roof felt that can deliver a roofing life
span of 25 years + given the correct installation. This in turn will deliver the most cost effective
form of all flat roofing systems. Torch on felts have taken over from the old 3 layer system, the quality and grade
of the felt is much higher and it does not require covering with stones that can prevent minor repairs to the roof in future
years. Also the guttering does not get blocked up with stones from the roof as the finish is a very smart looking mineral
roof finish.
We install all pitched roofing types, Slates, Plain tiles, Interlocking
tiles, Decra tiles for light weight construction & Metal roofing sheets. Our slate roofing tends to be strip and re-slate
with salvaged slates which keeps the original look of the property and does not add additional weight load to the
roof structure which the roof wasn't designed to carry.
Plain tiled roofs are more expensive than interlocking tiles but can greatly inhance the look of certain properties.
decra roof tiles are made of light weight metal with a sand face roof tile shape and are ideal for light weight roof
construction.
We replace and repair all types of rainwater gutters mainly in u-pvc
but we do install specialist Cast Iron/Aluminum, Round, OG & Square line. All our guttering is fitted not
only to work correctly but look correct, as the two run hand in hand.
We carry out all specialist roof carpentry, from installing Pulins
& Props for additional support, to the complete roof with roof Dormas, valley & hips.
We often have to fit Lead roof flashings on parapit walls
where cement roof fillets have cracked due to movement in the roof, It is common practice to fit Lead roof flashings
on all properties now days as it allows the roof to move without compromising the integrity of the roof, plus well fitted
Step roof flashings do compliment a well fitted roof.
Most chimney stacks are not in use any more but still look nice on
the roof of most properties, the main thing we get called to do is renew flauching. Flauching is the cement on the chimney
stack that fixes the chimney pots and is cambered to allow water to run off onto the roof. Chimney stacks should never be
sealed off completely, so if the chimney pots are not required they can be taken down and capped with a venting roof ridge.
If you take a chimney breast out to create more room inside I would stronghly recommend that you support with Gallows brackets
or remove the chimney stack completley and roof over.
